How to Use This Theme
-Â Materialism. When Jesus drove the money changers out of the Temple he challenged anyone who would follow to evaluate their priorities when it comes to material wealth. (John 2:13-22)
-Â Giving. Like the widow and her last coin, even with meager gifts we have something important to contribute to the kingdom of God. (Mark 12:38-44)
-Â Grace. God is rich in mercy. Finding a penny on the ground is like experiencing God’s grace–an unexpected surprise and the result of nothing we do on our own. God desires to rain pennies from heaven on our lives. (Ephesians 2:4-10)
-Â Stewardship. Joshua says, “Choose this day whom you will serve.” Each of us as Christ followers must make the daily decision to not follow after riches of this world but after true wealth. (Joshua 24:1-2a 14-18)
