How to Use This Theme
-Â Christian Living. As the famous campaign says, milk does the body good. But do we do our spirits good? As Paul says, “do nothing out of selfish ambition,” but live a joyous life of service and humility. (Phil 2:1-18)
-Â Community. Our bodies are Temples of the Holy Spirit. As Christians, together we form the church, which is God’s Temple in the world. It is our responsibility as bearers of the Holy Spirit, then, to give good milk–to avoid spoiled and stale behaviors that divide and sour the church. (1 Cor 3)
-Â Salvation. We all know about cravings. But just as our bodies hunger and thirst, so do our souls. As the woman at the well discovered, the risen Christ is the only thing that will satisfy our deepest cravings, no matter who we are or where we’ve been. (John 4:1-26)
-Â Spiritual Formation. God calls us to eat the solid food of a spiritually mature life, and not merely subsist on the infant’s milk of the new believer. (1 Cor 3:1-3, Heb 5:11-14)
