Honor those who serve in disaster scenes, search and rescue, or any real world example of helping others with our disaster relief theme.
-Â Faith. Our Christian history is full of anonymous heroes who, like rescue workers, served tirelessly and suffered greatly in service to others, and to God. (Heb 11:35-39)
-Â Hope. Death and suffering are a part of life. However, hope comes when we accept that Jesus’ resurrection is our heroic act of sacrifice that conquers death. (1 Cor 15)
-Â Love. The parable of the Good Samaritan is a cry to love those around us in need and to not pass them by. (Luke 10:25-37)
-Â Rebuilding. When disaster strikes in our lives, we must act like the heroes and immediately begin the task of rebuilding ourselves and those around us, physically and emotionally. (Neh 2:17-18)
