How to Use This Theme
-Â Afterlife. Instead of following the TV show “Crossing Over”, the true way to “cross over” is to lean on Jesus. (2 Cor 4:16-5:10)
-Â Atonement. The bridge is a classic theological metaphor for the act of atonement: the risen Christ bridges us, as sinful persons, to a holy God. (Ephesians 1:3)
-Â Forgiveness. When we have been wronged by sin in others, Jesus calls us to cross over the divide of hatred and bitterness, and forgive. (Matthew 18:21-22)
-Â Reconciliation. A bridge is also an excellent metaphor for crossing divides in race, family, and in individual relationships (Ephesians 2:11-22)
